The East Delhi Premier League (EDPL), which included teams from all seven Vidhan Sabha of Delhi, held its maiden match at Yamuna Sports Complex.

Last month, former cricket player Gambhir launched the East Delhi Premier League’s second season. The legendary cricket player and BJP MP Gambhir said the East Delhi Premier League (EDPL) was to go all out this season with double of the prize money compared to the last one.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva welcomed the league’s second edition to the table. For young players in particular, the EDPL serves as a genuine international cricket training field, fostering the native talent of East Delhi.
Emerging cricket players from East Delhi, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, were expected to benefit from the platform that the event offered. The recently renovated Yamuna Sports Complex hosted day and night cricket matches, which was accessible to the people of Delhi.
The season two of the tournament started last month on November 25 and had its final match on Decemeber 9. The league matches included ten teams representing ten Assembly seats in East Delhi. The ten teams were Gandhi Nagar Gladiators, Krishna Nagar Royals, Patparganj Panthers, Okhla Tigers, Shahdara Avengers, Vishwas Nagar Devils, Kondli Kings, Jangpura Lions, Laxmi Nagar Warriors and Trilokpuri Stars.
Meanwhile, as per the reports, they are also creating an app to further enhance the fan experience as digitization is the key to expanding the league’s reach along with live streaming on YouTube. Additionally, Fit India has allowed EDPL to expand its reach beyond a physical level and into a philosophical one, emphasising a better, more fit lifestyle and overall well-being.
What is the prize money for the East Delhi Premier League?
The prize money for the East Delhi Premier League season 2 is Rs 1 crore according to an aide of the East Delhi MP, reported by The Times of India, double of 50 lakh which was given in first season of the event. The entire schedule and results can be found here.
