Across a period exceeding three weeks in January and February, the 15th edition of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup will showcase a total of 41 matches. India, champions five times over, will commence their 2024 ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign against Bangladesh, the 2020 victors, in Bloemfontein.

India, reigning champions from the 2022 West Indies edition, occupy Group A along with Bangladesh, Ireland, and the USA. They aim to secure an unprecedented sixth Under 19 title. Group B includes England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland. Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Namibia constitute Group C, while Group D encompasses Afghanistan, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Nepal.
The top three teams from each group progress to the Super Six phase, culminating in the semi-finals and final set to take place in Benoni. According to ICC Head of Events Chris Tetley, South Africa, hosting the Under 19 World Cup for the third time following previous editions in 1998 and 2020, aims to build on the success of hosting two recent tournaments in the last year.
Commencing on January 19, the tournament kicks off with a clash between South Africa and West Indies in Potchefstroom. A total of 41 matches are scheduled to take place at five venues: Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, Buffalo Park in East London, Kimberley Oval in Kimberley, JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, and Willowmoore Park in Benoni. Willowmoore Park has been designated to host the Semi-Finals on February 6 and 8, as well as the Final on February 11.
