Brad Allen started out his career as a football official at the high school and ACC levels. He made his NFL debut back in 2014 and originally had plans to become an umpire. However, after referee Mike Carey announced his retirement, Allen got the opportunity to serve as a referee. Brad’s first match as an official NFL referee was during a Chicago Bears vs. Buffalo Bills game in 2014.
During his first game, as an official NFL referee, he was 42 years old, making him the youngest referee in NFL history.
