Susie, wife of Mercedes head honcho Toto Wolff went onto lambast FIA race director Michael Masi over his handling of the Abu Dhabi GP 2021
Although the F1 2021 drivers’ championship title is now decided with Mercedes deciding not to proceed with their appeal to the FIA International Court of Appeal, the distastefulness left in everyone’s mouth over what transpired at the season finale is yet to go away.
Heading towards his record eighth coveted title, Hamilton was kept at bay from the title as Nicholas Latifi crashed into the barrier with just five laps to go. And with FIA race director Michael Masi having the power to run the race thereafter, the Australian decided to pay with everyone’s heads.

Masi went onto refuse any kind of overtaking as the safety car was deployed before going onto allow five lapped cards to overtake only four minutes later. The entire set of events left everyone perplexed, ones which allowed Verstappen on fresh soft tyres to ease past his nemises.
Susie, the wife of Mercedes bigwig Toto Wolff has now gone onto rip apart Masi over his handling of the race with her bereaved by how things at turned out. She also threw her weight behind Hamilton while asked the FIA to rope in much needed changes to overhaul the system entirely come the 2022 season.

“What happened is still hard to comprehend and leaves me with a sick feeling.
“Not the losing – and not Max or Red Bull – they are deserving winners and we always knew it was a strong possibility we may not win – but the way in which Lewis was robbed has left me in utter disbelief.
“The decision of one person within the governing body who applied a rule in a way which has never been done before in F1 single handedly decided the F1 Driver World Championship. Rules are rules, they can’t be changed on a whim by one individual at the end of a race,” Susie said.
