A new lawsuit has accused Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of serious allegations, stating that he s*xually assaulted a woman named Joi Dickerson-Neal about 30 years ago in California

At the time, Joi Dickerson-Neal, a psychology student at Syracuse University, worked as a waitress at Wells’ Restaurant in Harlem. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who was a talent director at Uptown Records, allegedly pressured Joi Dickerson-Neal for a date and reportedly put something in her drink.
She says he then brought her to an apartment where she experienced s*xual assault. The incident, she alleges, was filmed and widely circulated.
She alleges that after a dinner, Combs intentionally drugged her, leaving her unable to stand or walk and according to the lawsuit, Combs then harassed her s*xually, recording the encounter and releasing the graphic footage as “revenge p*rn.”
After the alleged assault, Joi Dickerson-Neal had to leave college, giving up her dreams in the music industry. The lawsuit, filed under the New York Adult Survivors Act, is seeking unspecified damages. This legal action uses a provision that allows victims of s*xual abuse a one-year window to file a civil lawsuit, even if the usual time limit has passed.

Joi Dickerson-Neal chose to speak out after reportedly being inspired by Cassie, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, who filed a federal lawsuit accusing him of rape and a pattern of abuse over a decade. Cassie swiftly settled her case after filing it.
In court documents, Dickerson-Neal shares her emotional trauma, describing the challenges she faced, including social isolation, clinical depression, and setbacks in her career, all connected to the alleged assault.
Despite reporting the incident to authorities in New York and New Jersey, investigations struggled due to a lack of witnesses and the industry’s hesitation to speak out against Combs.
Combs’ lawyer, Ben Brafman has not made a statement about the new lawsuit. Joi Dickerson-Neal is determined to seek justice, believing she can support her claims with witness testimonies. She aims to bring attention to the emotional distress she experienced.
According to the complaint, Joi Dickerson-Neal and Combs first met in 1991 when she was a student at Syracuse University. After appearing in one of his music videos, she agreed to have dinner with him. The lawsuit claims that during this dinner, Combs intentionally drugged her, s*xually assaulted her, recorded the incident, and shared the video with others.
Dickerson-Neal is suing Combs for severe and lasting injuries resulting from the alleged assault, including severe depression and thoughts of suicide. She is demanding a jury trial and compensation for mental and emotional distress, pain, suffering, and damage to her reputation.
