BMPS 2023
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series, BMPS, stands as a premier league within the BGMI, where professional teams from India’s gaming industry vie for a substantial prize pool.
Outstanding teams from recent tournaments and those favored by fans may receive invitations to participate in the second season of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series.
Following the culmination of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, Krafton is gearing up for its second-largest tournament in India since the country’s game unbanning – the BMPS 2023. Merely a month after the conclusion of BGIS 2023 on October 15, Krafton promptly revealed the upcoming BMPS 2023 on November 17.
Tournament Date
Nevertheless, details regarding the tournament’s date and format remain unclear. It’s uncertain whether the entire event will be invitational or open to all participants.
The upcoming Pro Series will boast several popular and renowned BGMI squads and while organizer has not yet revealed the exact number of participants, all or most of the top-performing teams from the recently held BGIS 2023 will likely be invited to the competition.
However, the start date, schedule, and other details of the competition have not been disclosed.
In the inaugural BMPS season, open qualifiers took place before the main event through the Battlegrounds Mobile India Open Challenge 2022. This inclusive tournament allowed teams to qualify via online qualifiers, progressively narrowing down the pool of participants.
Ultimately, the top 32 teams from open qualifiers faced off against the invited 32 teams, with 24 teams advancing to BMPS Season 1. Team Soul emerged as the victor, with Goblin earning the MVP title.
Season 1
The BMPS was launched in 2022, just preceding the BGMI ban, running from May 19 to June 12 of that year. It featured 24 teams from the Battlegrounds Mobile India Open Challenge, offering a total prize pool of ₹2 crore.
Team Soul, a crowd favorite, asserted their dominance in the competition, securing their first offline BGMI title. In a noteworthy achievement, their player Goblin was honored with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award during the Grand Finals.
Additionally, as the victors of BMPS Season 1, Team Soul earned a coveted spot in the PUBG Mobile World League 2022. The first and second runners-up positions were claimed by OR Esports and Enigma Gaming, while Global Esports secured the fourth spot in the tournament.
