A third-division club cricket player from Gold Coast has achieved the ultimate bowler’s dream: six wickets in six balls during one of the greatest overs ever recorded. Three bowlers in all of professional cricket have taken five wickets in an over from five balls namely Neil Wagner (2011), Al-Amin Hossain (2013), and Abhimanyu Mithun (2019).
In the encounter against Surfers Paradise CC, Morgan led the Mudgeeraba Nerang & Districts Cricket Club when he achieve the accomplishment.
With one over remaining in the 40-over contest, Surfers Paradise was 174 for 4, needing to reach 178. But Morgan transformed the entire game when he got six wickets in a row and dismissed Surfers Paradise for 174. Five of the hitters were out for the Golden Ducks. ABC.net.au reports that the last two dismissals were bowled, whereas the first four were all caught.
Surfers Paradise’s Jake Garland was the first batter to be out on 65, needing five off the last over. Morgan removed the next three batsmen caught before, wrapping the tail via bowled out on the final two deliveries, in one of the rarest accomplishments ever documented in club or professional cricket. As the Australian International makes headlines following outstanding over, let us have a look at who Gareth Morgan is.
