For the fans of Korean drama My Dearest we have a piece of good news as on November 9, 2023, MBC made an announcement regarding the historical drama, revealing an extension to its episode count from the initially planned 20 to now 21 due to consistent delays in script delivery.

The drama, which has been split into two parts, aired its initial ten episodes from August 4 to September 2. The second part commenced on October 13, with a schedule alteration for its conclusion.

Episode 21 Release
The unforeseen extension places the last episode, Episode 21, of this historical and romantic-comedy drama to be broadcast on November 18, 2023, following Episode 20 by a day which will be released on November 17.
South Korean media outlet Spotvnews disclosed that the actors and production team of My Dearest had not yet received the script for Episode 20 as they were still engaged in filming Episode 19.
Acknowledging the demanding timetable and script delays, MBC decided to prolong the drama to 21 episodes, emphasizing a commitment to enhancing production quality and offering more insights into the love story between Jang-hyun and Gil-chae.
Episode 20 Release Date
As a result of this scheduling adjustment, Episode 20 is now scheduled to air on November 17 at 21:50 KST, and Episode 21 will follow on November 18 at the same time.
Earlier disruptions, such as the rescheduling of Episode 17 from November 3 to November 4 due to a baseball playoff game, had left K-drama enthusiasts somewhat disheartened. However, the news of an additional episode has brought joy to fans, eager to witness more of the captivating chemistry between Jang-hyun and Gil-chae.
According to the official site of Asianwiki, the drama unfolds during the Joseon period amid severe hardships caused by the Qing invasion, featuring a blossoming love story.
