Although Ninad Rathva (47 runs off 22 balls) and Abhimanyusingh Rajput (61 runs off 42 balls) maintained Baroda’s hopes during their chase, Punjab won the championship game by 20-runs to clinch the title.

After losing the toss and being instructed to bat, Punjab found themselves under early pressure when they lost key players. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed without scoring, Prabhsimran Singh managed just nine runs, and Krunal Pandya got rid of Mandeep Singh. However, Anmolpreet and Nehal demonstrated their composure, forging a 138-run partnership. In the end, Punjab concluded their innings with a formidable total of 223/4. Noteworthy is Anmolpreet’s impressive performance, as he amassed 113 runs from 61 balls, while Nehal contributed 61 runs from 27 balls.
Arshdeep Singh sealed the fate of the game in the penultimate over of an exhilarating run chase by showcasing his best skills and taking the wickets of Krunal Pandya, Shivalik Sharma, and Bhanu Pania. Ultimately, the left-arm pacer finished his spell with an impressive four-wicket haul, conceding just 23 runs and ensuring victory for his team. Despite the dew settling in during the second half, which made it challenging for the spinners to maintain a good grip on the ball, the target of 224 runs proved insurmountable for Baroda.

Abhishek Sharma earned the Player of the Series award for his consistent performance during the 2023-24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Simultaneously, Ravi Teja excelled as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, claiming 19 wickets, while Riyan Parag topped the run-scoring charts with a total of 510 runs. Punjab’s triumph in this esteemed competition will earn them an INR 80 lakh prize, whereas the second-place team, Baroda, will receive INR 40 lakhs. Additionally, the Punjab Cricket Association will reward the champions with prize money of INR 80 Lakhs
