The cast of Signal season 2
Currently, there’s no official information on whether Signal season 2’s cast will be the same as the first season’s. More about Season 1
Kim Won-seok, a well-known director of several popular series, directed the first season of Signal, which consisted of 16 episodes.
In the first season, two detectives from different eras worked together to solve cold cases using walkie-talkies. In the 1990s, Cho Jin-woong played senior detective Lee Jae-han, while Lee Je-hoon played Park Hae-yeong, a junior cop. Kim Hye-soo brought detective Cha Soo-hyun to life, a character with a fierce disposition and a complicated past with Lee Jae-han.
The season’s cryptic ending left fans in suspense, as the characters were on the brink of reuniting but were stopped by a cliffhanger. Despite this, the first season of Signal received positive reviews and took home the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards’ Best Drama trophy.
Kim Eun-hee and Kim Hye-soo were also honored with the Best Screenplay and Best Actress awards, highlighting the show’s impact. The show deftly incorporated true stories into its plot, illustrating the gravity of crimes and the anguish endured by victims connected to cold cases and unsolved cases.
