Shanon Moss, who is a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, confirmed that police officials are actively in search of the suspect.
Robert Card bio and age
Robert Card is a 41-year-old retired military officer whom local police have identified as the main suspect in the recent shootings across Lewiston, Maine. According to reports, Robert has a history of previous arrests, all due to domestic violence.
Upon further investigations, authorities have identified Card as an independent politically, with reports suggesting he may have voted for Barack Obama back in the past. Investigations show that Robert showed no signs of suspicious activity in recent weeks. However, some reports state that Robert Card is a firearms instructor in the US Army Reserve and recently got discharged from a mental health facility after he reported experiencing hallucinations.
According to law enforcement, Card recently reported mental health issues including hearing voices and threats to shoot up the National Guard Base in Saco and was also reported to have been committed to a mental health facility for two weeks during Summer 2023 and subsequently released.
As per NBC News, Card studied engineering at the University of Maine from 2001 to 2004 and the outlet quoted court records as stating that one Robert Card โ born on the same day as the suspected shooter โ was charged in 2001 and 2002 with speeding.

According to reports, Card married twice in the past and divorced both times. He also has three children from his two marriages. Robert reportedly has a history of arrests for domestic violence as well as other crimes. In fact, one of his ex-wives had previously even obtained a restraining order against him. The names of his wives aren’t known though.

Just yesterday, on October 25, 2023, a mass shooting took place in two locations in Lewiston, Maine, USA. Following the tragic incident, reports indicate that the shooter killed at least 15 people while leaving around 50 others injured. According to reports, the first reports of the shooting came up around 8 p.m. local time. The reports came from multiple locations, including a restaurant called Schemengees Bar and Grille, a bowling alley named Sparetime Recreation, and the local Walmart.
The Lewiston Police Department has since released a photo of the main suspect, identified as Robert Card. While some reports state that Robert Card fled in a Honda Civic, others state that it was a Subaru Outback. Both local police and the Maine Department of Public Safety have urged residents to remain indoors.
