The tickets for torchlight parade at Bannimantap grounds have also been announced and they too will be available online and the ticket costs ₹500 per person.
The tickets can be bought visiting www.mysoredasara.gov.in and after buying tickets online, the buyers will get an SMS and also an email notifying the time, date and venue from where they have to collect the tickets.
All of the 2023 Dasara Gold Cards allotted for online sale, which began at 10 a.m, were quickly purchased by interested purchasers.
As early as 10:15 a.m., visitors trying to acquire these sought-after cards at www.mysoredasara.gov.in saw error messages indicating the sell-out. Despite the two tickets per purchaser restriction, there was such a high demand that the website stated, “Select quantity not available.” However, tickets might go on sale again and you can keep checking the site for them.
The District Administration had printed more than 3,000 gold cards overall, according to insiders. These were divided into two groups: 1,000 were set out for online purchases, while the remaining 2,000 were designated for VVIPs, a custom driven by political and administrative factors.
Tourism stakeholders have expressed concern, claiming that powerful individuals obtained 2,000 cards, leaving normal travelers with only 1,000.
Tickets for the torchlight parade and Jumboo Savari also sold out.
In addition to the Gold Cards, the District Administration also offered online tickets for the Torchlight Parade and Jumboo Savari for Rs. 500, Rs. 3, and Rs. 2, respectively, with specific enclosures for ticket holders to see the magnificent show. It should come as no surprise that these extra tickets were also quickly sold out.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.V. Rajendra responded to the demand for Dasara Gold Cards by issuing a press release the previous evening, declaring their availability on Wednesday at 10 a.m. These cards were designed to make it easier for both Indian and foreign tourists to join Dasara events.
The online-only sale was done to simplify the procedure.
The District Administration decided to have an online-only sale to simplify the procedure and avoid overcrowding. Dr. Rajendra’s statement explained that information regarding card collection, such as the date, time, and location, will be sent to customers’ specified contact information by SMS and email. During card collection, buyers were encouraged to provide identification.
The Dasara Gold Card, which costs Rs. 6,000, ensures the possessor a seat during the torchlight parade and the Dasara procession (Jumboo Savari) at Bannimantap.
The Mysore Palace, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo), Jaganmohan Art Gallery, Karanji Lake Nature Park, Rail Museum, Regional Museum of Natural History, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Brindavan Gardens, Chamundi Hill Temple (VIP Darshan), St. Philomena’s Church, and Dasara Exhibition are just a few of the tourist attractions that are free to enter for cardholders from October 15 to October 24.
