For unfamiliar, the actor who was known for his iconic antagonist roles, reportedly passed away on Tuesday, October 17, at a private hospital in Kollam.

He was 71 years old. Johny had suffered a cardiac arrest and was subsequently admitted to the hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his condition.
His final film, โMeppadiyan,โ was released in 2022, and his fans have been expressing their condolences on social media.
Actor Kundara Johny and his wife Stella are parents to son Astej Johny and daughter Ashima Johny.
Career
Kundara Johny started his career in the Malayalam film industry, initially taking on uncredited roles before making his official debut in 1979 at the age of 23 in โNithya Vasantham.โ He gained recognition through performances in movies like โAgniparvatham,โ โRajavinte Makan,โ and โAavanazhi.โ
However, it was his portrayal of antagonist roles that propelled him to stardom, particularly his iconic character Nambiar in โNadodikkattu.โ He also made notable contributions to films like โOru CBI Diary Kurippu,โ โKireedam,โ โChenkol,โ and โSpadikam,โ among others.
Johny, originally from Kundara in Kollam, marked his debut on the silver screen at 27, impressing audiences with his rugged appearance and strong physique, which led to numerous opportunities.
Although many of his early roles were relatively minor, he persevered and eventually became associated with critically acclaimed and commercially successful films.

His memorable roles includes police constable Maniyan in โSpadikamโ (1995), Pappachan in โCrime Fileโ (1999), IG Rajan Koshy in โBharathchandran IPSโ (2005), and Jabbar in โBhargavacharitham Moonam Khandamโ (2006).
Kundara Johnyโs last appearance was in Vishnu Mohanโs โMeppadiyanโ in 2022.
Family
He is survived by his wife, Stella, who is a teacher at Kollamโs Fatima Mata National College, and two children. Further details about his funeral arrangements are still pending.
Expressing their condolences for the actorโs passing, Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal mentioned that Johny had appeared in over 500 films over his career spanning more than four decades.
Additionally, Superstar Mohanlal, Minister for General Education and Labour V Sivankutty, composer Sharreth, and actor Hareesh Peradi also shared their sympathies.
