Who was Toon Greebe?
Toon Greebe was a Dutch darts player who was born on September 25, 1988 and died on October 16, 2023. Greebe participated in World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. The 35-year player had been in the profession since 1997.
Greebe qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship twice in the first part of the century. When it debuted at Alexandra Palace in 2008, he was there in that year. Subsequently, he was defeated by Peter Manley 3-2 in sets. Greebe returned to action two years later at Ally Pally, but John Part proved too good in the opening round, winning 3-0 in sets.
Toon won the Polish Open in 2019 however, his serious health issues shortened his Dart career.

Toon Greebe was suffering from serious health issues. He had to have his lower left leg amputated in late 2022. He also had kidney issues as per a report in Daily Star.
What was the cause of the death of Toon Greebe?
The Dutchman had major health problems in recent years, and on Monday, his departure was announced. After contracting an illness in 2017, he had the lower portion of his left leg amputated at the end of the previous year. He also had his right foot removed.

Tributes have been poured in respect of Toon Greebe. His death has caused storm in the word of sport of Dart as several players mourn on his passing asay. Players like 2010 Players Championship winner Paul Nicholson wrote he will “miss his sense of humour” while the other Darts player Ryan Palmer remembered the times he played against Toon.
