In their first game at the Donghae Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2021, Gurjit Kaur scored five goals to lead the Indian Women’s Hockey team to a 13-0 victory over Thailand. Gurjit scored India’s first goal in the second minute of the game after which Thailand was penalised for a foul in their defensive third.
Gurjit, who scored four goals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, kept his calm and slammed the ball in the back of the nets in the second minute to give India a 1-0 lead. Thailand was placed on the back foot right away after conceding an early goal, and Vandana Katariya, the only Indian woman to achieve a hat-trick at the Olympics, scored the second goal five minutes later.

The Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2021 a biannual field hockey competition held by the Asian Hockey Federation for the six best Asian women’s national teams.
The event will be held at the Donghae City Sunrise Stadium in Donghae, South Korea, from June 14 to June 21, 2020. The defending champions are South Korea.
The event has been postponed until March 26, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The revised dates were revealed in September 2020, with the event taking place from March 31 to April 6, 2021.
