Arthur had died last year in the hallway of a home in Cranmore Road, Shirley in the West Midlands, after suffering from catastrophic head injuries after being tortured by his father and stepmother. Arthur was held captive by the two hoodlums as what was called punishment for him for a magnitude of the COVID-19 pandemic.
CCTV Video And Voice Messages Show How Arthur Labinjo-Hughes Was Tortured By His Parents
Arthur was taken to the hospital on June 16, 2020 but despite the best efforts of the doctors, he slumped to his injuries with him losing his life at 1am the next day. His father Thomas Hughes, 29, was found guilty of manslaughter and step-mother Emma Tustin, 32 was found guilty of murder by a jury at the Coventry Crown Court.
Tustin was also found guilty of child cruelty counts 4 (deprivation of food and drink) and 5 (salt poisoning) with the jury being informed of how Arthur was made to stand in isolation for 14 hours a day and assaulted, deprived of food and water and poisoned with salt.

He told his family, his doctor, his school that, "his dad was going to kill him." So many professionals well-trained to step in: we've learned f*ck all, haven't we? #RIPArthur

Hughes was meanwhile found guilty of child cruelty counts 2 (standing in isolation) and 3 (assaults) with more than 200 voice messages of Arthur recorded by Tustin and sent to Hughes being played during the case. Arthur was heard crying for his grandmother and uncle saying repeatedly ‘no-one loves me’ and ‘no-one is going to feed me’ with Hughes even seen barking orders to him and asking him to stand still in some of the notes.
CCTV footage was also played to show the inhumane treatment meted out to the boy.
