Pro Kabaddi League competitor Tamil Thalaivas is a professional kabaddi team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Twelve franchisees from various Indian cities participated in the tournament’s fifth edition in 2017. That year saw the introduction of “Tamil Thalaivas,” a representation of Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Thalaivas added seven players to their squad prior to the start of the new season. After making the playoffs for the first time the year before, the Chennai-based squad is aiming to win their first championship this season.
Interestingly, Tamil Thalaivas declined to resign Pawan Sehrawat during the auction with the FBM card. Rather, they released him. The Thalaivas did not sign any player for more than ₹31.6 lakh. Approximately ₹1 crore remained in their auction funds when they returned.

The Indian Super League team Kerala Blasters FC’s parent business, Magnum Sports Private Limited, is the team’s owner. The team’s brand ambassador is actor Vijay Sethupathi. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu is the home field for the Tamil Thalaivas.
The team’s captain is Sagar Rathee while Ashan Kumar serves as it’s coach.
