The social worker Payton Shires, admitted to engaging in s*xual conduct with a 13-year-old boy on multiple occasions in September. She is charged with one count of s*xual conduct with a minor, a third-degree felony, and is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond. The police who were on a three-way conversation with the counsellor and the boy’s mother, discovered Payton Shires’ purported confession.
Investigators in Columbus, Ohio, the United States, reportedly found a disturbing video of the act with the child. In September, a worried parent reported their concerns by prompting law enforcement to move quickly. Shires, 24, was discovered to have had intercourse with a child.
On September 27, the mother of the nameless child called Columbus Police and asked the kid if he had “deleted the videos” or if anybody had seen them. The officers arranged a three-way call involving Shires, her mother, and themselves. The counselor allegedly acknowledged having s*xual contact with the unidentified 13-year-old there.
Shires was detained as police released the 24-year-old’s photo and information about her counseling license. Shires’ previous employment history indicated that on June 12, she had successfully acquired her counseling license approved by the National Youth Advocate Program. Since then, a corporate spokesperson has issued a statement acknowledging knowledge of the incident.
NYAP, an organization that supports foster families has informed Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) about the situation and is working in partnership with them and the Columbus Police Department regarding this case. They did not say exactly when Shires ceased working for them, just that they were now aware of his alleged misdeeds.
She is detained at the Franklin County Corrections Centre and appeared in court on Friday. The bail exceeding £400,000 ($500,000) has been posted by Judge Mike Mcallister.
