The compound archers spearheaded India’s charge in the continental championship and experienced Jyothi Surekha Vennam defeated world champion Aditi Swami to get to the women’s solo final. India has already officially secured three medals in archery, and they are still in the race for the podium in seven further recurve and compound events.
Deotale faced the seventh-seeded Yang Jaewon of South Korea just two months after winning the senior world championship in Berlin. However, he gave his competitor no opportunity as he shot 15 arrows in a row for a perfect 10, eliminating any chance the adversary had.
Deotale waved to the fans in celebration of his crushing 150-146 victory, with seven of his 15 perfect 10s being closer to the center (X).
