Indian-born 27-year-old Shanti Pereira was raised in Singapore and is the holder of a number of illustrious records. 

Her parents are Bridget Jeet Pereira and Clarence Pereira and she has two sisters Valerie and Shobi. Born and brought up in Singapore, 27-year-old Shanti Pereira is of Indian origin but her religion isn’t known. While she is unmarried, Shanti Pereira is dating Tan Zong Yang since 2021.

Shanti Pereria’s Qualification

Pereira has a diploma in sports and leisure management from Singapore Sports School and Republic Polytechnic. Additionally, she received the Yip Pin Xiu Scholarship to study accounting at the Singapore Management University, a private institution of higher learning in Southeast Asia.

Shanti Pereira first became interested in sports when she was in school. She attracted a lot of attention after earning multiple awards for her school in the National School Games and went on to become one of Singapore’s greatest school-level athletes in history.

On July 30, she earned a gold medal in the women’s 200-metre sprint at the Mittsommernacht Athletics competition in Berlin.

Shanti Pereira had the chance to compete for her country in the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships in Donetsk, Ukraine. She ran the 100 metres at the competition in 11.89 seconds.

Pereira finished the race for the 100 metres in less than 12 seconds, making her the first female athlete from Singapore to accomplish this feat. She placed fourth in the 100-metre race at the Southeast Asian Games later that same year.

  • In 2015, she finished third with a time of 11.88 seconds at the Southeast Asian Games. She won Singapore’s first medal at the competition in 42 years with the bronze medal. 
  • With a time of 23.60 seconds, Pereira went on to win the gold medal in the 200-metre race, shattering the previous 200-metre national record. 
  • Shanti Pereira’s victory made her the first Singaporean athlete since Glory Barnabas in 1973 to take home a gold medal in a sprint event at the SEA Games.
  • At the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Shanti Pereira won her bronze medal in the 100-metre race.

Shanti Pereira has won 10 medals in her professional career, including four gold, one silver, and five bronze, at the Southeast Asian Games. Additionally, she took home two gold medals from the Asian Athletics Championships. 

Her individual event personal bests are as follows: 7.61 seconds for the indoor 60-metre sprint, 11.20 seconds for the 100-metre sprint, and 22.69 seconds for the 200-metre sprint.

Shanti Pereira’s net worth is reportedly projected to be $5 million as of 2023 by various sources. Most of her money comes from her professional athletic earnings.
