Prichard Colon latest injury update and recovery status now in 2023

The condition of Prichard Colon has been updated by his mother now in 2023

She just uploaded a video of her son turning 31 while appearing to be making a full recovery.

The former boxer’s career was severely cut short owing to an injury.

Colón, a former boxer who is now 31 years old, was previously seen as a promising talent in the sport. He had 16 victories under his belt as of September 2015, 13 of which were knockouts, and he was undefeated. On the Puerto Rican, Dominican Republican, and American regional scenes, he was a spectacular success.

After defeating Vivian Harris a month prior, Prichard Colón faced Terrel Williams. Unfortunately, there was a lot of controversy surrounding their fight. Colón’s adversary repeatedly struck him in the back of the head, a boxing rule violation. The match official informed the referee of his opponent’s continual fouls, but nothing was done.

Soon after, Prichard Colón punched Terrel Williams in the groin with an unlawful hit of his own. Colón was knocked down twice in round nine after receiving multiple hits to the back of the head, at which point he claimed he felt lightheaded.

He was determined to go on, but his corner accidentally took off his gloves. They thought the fight was over, and the referee disqualified him as a result. Colón started vomiting after the fight, and he was quickly brought to the hospital where he was identified as having a brain haemorrhage. After that, he fell into a 221-day coma. His career was over as a result of the injury.

However, as of now, Colon has advanced significantly

Since then, Colon has been in and out of the hospital, but his mother has continued to provide him with health updates. Colon is seen in the video she released grinning at a birthday cake and accepting a hand-signed boxing glove from Puerto Rican music icon Daddy Yankee. Prichard Colón has made progress and now uses a movable chair for mobility and a dedicated computer for communication, albeit it is unlikely that he will ever return to the boxing ring. His situation is comparable to that of Cris Lencioni, a former fighter who had previously competed in Bellator.

Lencioni had a heart attack back in June, which resulted in brain damage and virtually rendered him immobile. In an updated video, he could be seen grinning in reaction to his wife kissing him despite his condition. Rafael Lovato Jr., another former Bellator MMA competitor, had his own neurological disorder. He resigned after receiving a cerebral cavernoma diagnosis but has subsequently returned to competitive activity despite having trouble locating commissions that would clear him.
