Born on December 23, 2000, in Karnal, Haryana, Nishant Dev has emerged as a formidable force in the world of boxing. Standing at an impressive height of 5’10”, Nishant’s journey in the sport is nothing short of inspiring.

Nishant’s introduction to the world of boxing happened in 2012, thanks to the influence of his uncle, a seasoned professional boxer. This was the spark that ignited his passion for the sport. 

Under the watchful eye of his coach, Surender Chauhan, at the Karan stadium, Nishant began his arduous journey to become a champion to make his country proud.

However, his journey wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of his family, especially his father, Pawan Kumar, and mother, Priyanka. 

Nishant’s father played a pivotal role in his early training, demonstrating his commitment by waking him up at 4 AM for grueling training sessions and accompanying him to evening practices.

Nishant Dev’s rise in the international boxing arena has been nothing short of meteoric. In 2021, at the Elite World Boxing Championship, he made a remarkable impression by storming into the quarterfinals, displaying his exceptional skills and determination.

He conquered the National Championships in 2021, clinching a gold medal and securing his ticket to represent India at the World Championships. His remarkable journey included defeating formidable opponents such as Hungary’s nine-time National Champion, Laszlo Kozak, and the two-time Olympian from Mauritius, Merven Clair. 

The pinnacle of Nishant’s achievements came in the 2023 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships, where he clinched a well-deserved bronze medal. His journey to the podium was marked by three unanimous victories and one win by referee-halted combat.
