2023-24 Indian Super League results, schedule, date, venue, & participating teams

Odisha FC appeared to adapt seamlessly to their new head coach Sergio Lobera’s philosophy from the beginning. They maintained the majority of possession and continually probed Chennaiyin FC’s defense with their fluid offensive maneuvers. However, neither team managed to break the deadlock until Jerry made a breakthrough with an impressive display of coordination in the 45th minute.

Chennaiyin FC came close to equalizing shortly after the halftime break. They earned a corner kick in the 56th minute, and Lazar Cirkovic and Connor Shields made a determined effort to level the score. Yet, Odisha’s resolute defense, led by goalkeeper Amrinder Singh, kept the visitors at bay. As the second half progressed, Lobera reinforced Odisha FC’s attack by substituting Jiteshwor Singh with Brazilian forward Diego Mauricio. Mauricio, who was the joint-highest goal-scorer in the previous ISL season, capitalized on a defensive error by Ankit Mukherjee to score Odisha’s second goal.
