When he first entered the KBC, he bravely answered a question for Rs. 320,000. The crucial turning point occurred when Jaskaran chose to answer the Rs 1 crore question: “Who was the Viceroy of India when the capital shifted from Calcutta to Delhi?”
With a lifeline, Jaskaran Singh confidently chose option B, Lord Hardinge, securing the elusive Rs 1 crore prize. Amitabh Bachchan lauded his achievement with a warm “well played.” After accomplishing this amazing milestone, Jaskaran Singh was confronted with the enormous Rs 7 crore question:
“According to the Padma Purana, which king had to live as a tiger for a hundred years due to a deer’s curse? A. Kshemadhurit, B. Dharmadatta, C. Mitadhvaja, D. Prabhanjana.”
Jaskaran Singh was unfortunately unable to answer this question, which caused him to gracefully leave the game. Nonetheless, Jaskaran’s victory had already cemented his place in history as the first KBC candidate of the 15th season to win Rs 1 crore.
