The inaugural edition of the Hockey 5s World Cup is set to take place in Oman next year, with the Indian women’s team having already secured their qualification.
Team India Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier previous results
Team India has played three matches so far, securing two wins and one loss. India won their opening day match with a 15-1 score against Bangladesh and another 12-2 win against hosts Oman yesterday.
However, in yesterday’s second game, India loss 4-5 against arch-rivals Pakistan. During India’s 12-2 win over Oman, Mohammed Raheel (2′, 9′, 30′), Pawan Rajbhar (9′, 10′, 21′), and Maninder Singh (16′, 23′, 26′), all scored a hat-trick each. Meanwhile the rest of the scores came from Jugraj Singh (3′, 28′) and Sukhvinder (29′). In their 4-5 defeat against Pakistan, Maninder Singh (17′, 29′), Gurjot Singh (12′), and Mohammad Raheel (21′) scored for India.
Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier group B points table
India are currently placed in Group B in the ongoing Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier. They are placed alongside Pakistan, Oman, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Japan.
