After losing to Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury in the championship match the year before, Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski are hoping to advance even further in Queens. In addition to reaching the final at Indian Wells and the semifinals in Rome and Acapulco, the Dutch-British team also won their first major title together at Wimbledon in July.

2. Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury

Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury always save their best tennis for New York, even though they haven’t won a championship since May. They arrived this year seeded No. 3 behind the Roland Garros champions Austin Krajicek and Ivan Dodig after being the first men’s doubles team to win back-to-back US Open titles since 1996.

3. Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden

Rohan Bopanna is now ranked 14th, up five spots from the start of the season, albeit having since lost that spot. In March, he and Ebden won the Indian Wells Masters, making him the oldest ATP Masters 1000 champion in history. In addition to winning the Qatar Open in February, Bopanna and Ebden reached the Madrid Masters final in May.

Bopanna made his way into the top 10 for the first time since June 2016 as a consequence of a string of successful performances. Before Wimbledon, he fell to 12th place, but after reaching the semifinals at the All-England Club, he rose to the top of the rankings once more.

Later, the pair advanced to the Canadian Open quarterfinals before falling to Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. They recently withdrew from the Cincinnati Masters’ first round.

4. Chris Eubanks and Ben Shelton

Ben Shelton most recently reached the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters alongside Christopher Eubanks. He also won the Citi Open title this month with Mackenzie McDonald. He also reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open, and Mexican Open, and started his year with an advancement to the grand slam last eight in Australia in singles.

Although there are not so good advancements for the pair this year but their recent form on the hard court says a lot about them.

5. Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer.

The National Bank Open Presented by Rogers was won this month by Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer after a week of intense competition in Toronto. The unseeded Salvadoran-Dutch team performed admirably in the championship match to defeat Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury 6-3, 6-1 to win their first ATP Masters 1000 title.

Due to their success this month in Toronto, Arevalo and Rojer have moved up seven spots to No. 7 in the Pepperstone ATP Live Doubles Rankings. In their first season working together, they reached the Nitto ATP Finals the previous year. They also reached the quarterfinals of the French Open and the pair have several other great advancements this year.
