While Mumbai City themselves are a formidable side having won the Indian Super League last season, Al Hilal have the added advantage of Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. on their side.
Mumbai City FC vs Al Hilal match date and venue
The upcoming AFC Champions League 2023-24 group stage fixture between Mumbai City and Al Hilal will take place on November 6, 2023. The Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, in Pune will serve as the match venue. This is because Mumbai City’s home ground, the Andheri Sports Complex, does not match the AFC guidelines.

According to reports, the ticket sales for all AFC matches set to take place in Pune will begin in the first week of September. Further reports indicate that only 9000 out of the possible 11,000 tickets will be on sale for the AFC matches. This is because the remaining 2,000 seats are reserved for special guests, actors, and politicians.
As of now, the organizers have not confirmed the ticket prices nor their availability and how to buy. However, fans can expect the tickets to be more expensive than usual, due to the high demand and significance of the game. Interestingly, the club also hinted about the start of ticket sales on Twitter by posting the ticket emoji with a soon emoji, and side eye emoji.
Mumbai City FC vs Al Hilal match preview
Going into the match, Mumbai City are undoubtedly the underdogs, and have a tough job at hand. Al Hilal finished third in the SPL last season, and currently have Neymar Jr. in their side. Neymar is a top-class player who has previously played for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain before recently signing for Al Hilal.
Moreover, Al Hila are the tournament’s most successful team, having won the competition four times. They have also finished in second place five times. Aside from this match, Mumbai City will play against Nassaji Mazandaran and Navbahor Namangan in the other group stage matches. The Islanders will play these teams on September 18 and December 4, respectively.
