Shericka Jackson, OD is a Jamaican sprinter who was born on July 16, 1994, in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica. She currently competes in the 100 m, 200 m, as well as 400 metres races. Back in 2022, Shericka became the fastest woman alive and also the second fastest woman ever in the 200 metres.

Jackson initially gained international fame after her performances at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She competed during that event as a part of Jamaica’s 4×400-meter relay team, and won a bronze medal. She has since continued to rise up the ranks and remained consistent in her performances. Back in 2018, Jackson won a silver medal in the 200 meters at the Commonwealth Games, in Gold Coast, Australia. She came in behind her fellow compatriot Elaine Thompson-Herah. She also managed to win a gold medal in the 4×100-meter relay for Jamaica at the same event.
Her defining moment came in the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, where she won the silver medal in the 400 meters. She came in behind Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser. Just recently, on Friday, 25 August, Shericka Jackson retained the women’s 200m title at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
On Friday, Jamaican Shericka Jackson repeated as women’s 200m champion, this time in 21.41 seconds, the second-fastest in history and Jackson, 29, was primarily a 400m sprinter until 2021.
