Jeremy Doku emerged as their next target, aiming to fill the void left by the departure of Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian forward bid farewell to Manchester City, embarking on a new adventure in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli.

Doku boasts excellent physical capabilities and reached a career top speed of 19.57mph, just eight short of the fastest man ever Usain Bolt’s record. Nicknamed the ‘Belgian Flash’ after the superhero character ‘Flash’, Doku has received plaudits from some of the biggest names in football for his speed.

Doku’s path to prominence began at Stade Rennes, where he showcased his electrifying pace and dazzling dribbling skills. With 12 goals under his belt since joining the French club in 2020

Additionally, he etched his name into Belgium’s national squad, earning 14 caps and even gracing the 2022 World Cup stage. Such feats have earned him the nickname “Belgian Flash,” a testament to his rapidity and flair on the field.

At Anderlecht, Doku commanded a weekly salary of $2094 (£1651, €1945) and an annual income of $108,000 (£85,000, €100,000). With his Rennes contract stretching until June 2025, Doku earned around $32,000 (£25,000, €29,000), resulting in an annual salary of roughly $1.6 million (£1.2 million, €1.4 million).

Doku has a net worth of $1.5 million (£1.1 million, €1.3 million) in 2023. However, these figures have reportedly risen drastically as he stepped onto the Etihad turf donning the sky-blue jersey wearing the number 11 jersey, vacant ever since the departure of Aleks Zinchenko.

The negotiations with Stade Rennes have been no small feat for Manchester City. A fee of $65 million (£51 million, €60 million) has been agreed upon and he stands to earn a gross salary of $3.3 million (£2.6 million, €3 million)before his journey even begins with Manchester City.

As the 21-year-old prepares to make his transition to Manchester City it can be expected that he will be a joy to watch considering his dribbling style and the potential to maintain a goal-scoring form that can earn him his first taste of silverware.
