In just one year, Anthony Richardson went from being a rookie quarterback for Florida to becoming a starter in the NFL with his rap song now viral as well
It appears like he will succeed in football. But if it doesn’t, he might have a backup plan. A rap career. Let us have a closer look at the viral Richardson rap video, and what else is known about his rap career is provided below.
Colts QB Anthony Richardson rap video, song and alter rapper ego ‘GVO’ go viral
American quarterback footballer Anthony Richardson is recently grabbing all the attention. However, it is not due to his ludicrous arm strength during the game.
The rookie sounds better than many players who try their hand at music. He has verses in several rap songs that have been uploaded to a YouTube site called GVO TV.
Following Tuesday’s announcement of Richardson as the Colts’ starting quarterback, this year’s fourth-overall pick might need to take a brief break from the studio. However, Damian Lillard may face competition from other well-known players with rap careers.
Anthony Richardson’s Viral Video
Only 2,700 people had watched the GVO Speero song “Talk to 2” as of Tuesday, but the rap verse by Richardson is starting to acquire popularity on social media.
The video was published more than a year ago, ahead of Richardson’s final season at Florida. It’s intriguing that the main artist isn’t the former Gators quarterback. He only has one verse, but it impressed a lot of his admirers.
Richardson is not listed as the song’s primary artist, GVO Speero, although Richardson is a part of the GVO network. In accordance with GVO Speero’s Instagram bio, GVO stands for both “God’s very own” and “Gainesville’s very own.”
Richardson had further rap appearances besides “Talk to 2”. In GVO Speero’s “POV,” which was uploaded on YouTube in June, he contributes a verse. In a number of his statements, Richardson makes reference to his fame, saying, “I will be walking around, and everybody knows my name.”
Richardson’s name is well known, even if not yet for his rap career. Despite having a hit-or-miss season as the starting quarterback for the Gators, he was selected fourth overall in the April draught, and Colts supporters are hoping for the best.
“Talk to 2” has one statement that sticks out above the others. Richardson raps, “On the pitch, I’m a saint; I will be throwing like Drew Brees.”
The 21-year-old may not be a New Orleans Saint, and he may play differently than Brees did, but when he steps onto the field for the Colts in Week 1, he will become a member of the elite group of NFL starting quarterbacks.
If Richardson could have had a career even half as fruitful as Brees’s, Indianapolis would have achieved a great achievement.
Nickname For Anthony Richardson In Rap
Although Richardson’s precise rap moniker isn’t entirely apparent, he is a member of the group “GVO.” That means “Gainesville’s very own,” according to the band’s YouTube channel. According to several social media sites, GVO means “God’s very own.”
Gainesville is where the University of Florida is located, so it’s not difficult to determine where the name came from.
A little NFL success for the 21-year-old quarterback may go a long way for the group’s rap career. GTO TV, the name of the YouTube channel under which all rap songs featuring Richardson are released, has a small number of views on its videos and only 697 subscribers as of Tuesday.
