What Exactly Happened in Chapter 42
In the last chapter of The Mad Gate, Eon lets the Mad King take over, leading to the death of Eurybia’s father, Aurunos. The scenario is particularly sorrowful as Eurybia mourns the loss of her father. They had a strained relationship, and Eurybia knew full well that her father, Aurunos, was a nasty man who caused pain to those who loved him. This made Eurybia feel guilty about mourning the loss of her father, but Eon reassured her that it was normal to grieve because, no matter how terrible he was, Aurunos was still her father.
Eurybia and Eon start making preparations to depart Atlantis as it crumbles around them. At the portal to Leviathan, they discover the sole vehicle that can transport them out of Atlantis before it collapses entirely. According to Eurybia, only a descendant of Mad King may breach the barrier protecting Leviathan, which Aurunos was the only person to do in the past. When Eon proposes to take over Leviathan’s operations, Falcon is immediately wary of him due to his obvious ties to Mad King. Falcon recalls Silenus’s earlier boasts about himself.
