He attended FC Barcelona for a brief period of time prior to making his professional debut in 2015 with Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. He played for the group in 124 games in total, scoring 34 goals, and helping the group win the league and cup five times each. He signed up with RB Leipzig in 2020 and left in 2022.
Olmo clinched the 2019 UEFA European Championship with the Spain under-21 team, and grabbed a silver medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. He was a member of the 2023 UEFA Nations League champions, reached the 2020 UEFA Euro semifinals, and made his senior international debut in 2019.
