ISL 2021-22 starts with fans ready to witness a festive season mixed with some absolutely thrilling football action. Fears regarding a possible third wave of the coronavirus have forced the organizers to conduct the league behind closed doors this season.

ISL 2021-22: Schedule, Date, Time Teams, New Rules, Format And Venues
Like last season, the 2021-22 season will have 8 teams participating in the league. Defending champions Mumbai City FC will look to retain their title this year as well, whereas runners-up Atk Mohun Bagan will eye the trophy once again to make it their fourth title if they emerge victorious this year.
New Rule
As opposed to the previous seasons where a team could field a maximum of 5 players, from this ISL season, teams will have to follow the 3 (foreigners) + 1 (Asian) foreign player rule across all matches. The double headers at the weekends will start at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM respectively.
Stadiums
ISL 2021-22 will again be played behind closed-doors in Goa. The three stadiums that will host the games are Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Atletic Stadium in Bambolim and Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco.
