Following a breakthrough in the talks, Arsenal was able to recruit the goalkeeper on loan with an option to purchase him for £27 million the following year. Raya will reportedly extend his contract with Brentford, allowing the team to maintain value for the goalkeeper, according to David Ornstein.
When Raya rejoins the Bees in the summer of 2024, he will still be under contract for one more year.
The full details of David Raya’s Arsenal salary are not yet known but the goalkeeper was believed to be earning £25,000 per week at Brentford £1.3m per year.
The net worth of the player is said to be $10 million as of 2023.

Arsenal will pay the $3 million loan fee right away
Ahead of Saturday’s Premier League season opener against Forest, the goalkeeper is likely to sign with Arsenal after spending today saying goodbye to his Brentford teammates. A medical appointment has been scheduled on Thursday, and the two clubs will soon exchange papers.
If Arsenal exercises their option to purchase, they will pay £30 million in total for the goalkeeper. After Brentford turned down interest in the keeper from Bayern Munich and Tottenham earlier in the transfer window, the price appears to be a bargain.
For the goalkeeper, Brentford had originally demanded a £40 million fee. Moreover, now the Spanish international will challenge Aaron Ramsdale, who is now ranked first.
Fans are busy hailing Arsenal’s sporting director.
Arsenal supporters are applauding sporting director Edu for the strange deal structure. A fan tweeted a compilation of Edu with the words “Apologies are not enough… EDUCATION IS REQUIRED.”
Following a personal suggestion from goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, who had previously worked with Raya’s fellow Spaniard at Brentford before joining Arteta’s backroom staff, the Gunners made their initial attempt to recruit Raya in 2020.
And the next year, they only paid £24 million to Sheffield United for Ramsdale because they were unable to come to an agreement. However, Ramsdale, 25, just agreed to a lucrative new deal with Arsenal, and he is rumoured to be looking forward to the increased competition for the top spot.
With the sale of backup custodian Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest in a deal worth up to £10 million, Arsenal has made room for Raya’s arrival.
