Who is Fi Morris?
Fritha Mary Kie “Fi” Morris, an English cricketer who now competes for Lancashire, North West Thunder, and Manchester Originals, was born on January 31, 1994.
A look at Fi Morris’ career so far and debut
She is an all-rounder who bats and bowls right-handedly off break. She has formerly played for the Welsh Fire, Southern Vipers, Western Storm, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and Berkshire. The 29-year-old studied at the University of Exeter.
In the 2008 match between Oxfordshire and Cornwall, Morris made her county debut. She bowled three overs for a 12-plus. In her second game, she faced Gloucestershire, taking 4/46. Oxfordshire’s Morris was the team’s leading wicket-taker in the 2009 Women’s Twenty20 Cup.
Morris moved to Gloucestershire before the 2010 campaign. She scored 52* against Buckinghamshire in the 2010 Women’s County Championship to record her first county half-century. Prior to the 2013 season, Morris relocated to Berkshire, and she stayed there through the completion of the 2017 campaign. In the 2013 Women’s County Championship, she had a strong start at her new club, hitting 151 runs with a high score of 47 and collecting 6 wickets.
Morris relocated to Hampshire before the 2018 season and assisted them in their debut season to win the Championship. In the Women’s Cricket Super League in 2016, 2018, and 2019, Morris also played for the Southern Vipers team. In 2016, she participated in 3 games and claimed 3 wickets. For the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in 2020, Morris moved to Western Storm. She took part in each of the six contests, recording 115 runs at an average of 19.16 and 11 wickets to tie for the second-highest total on the squad.
In The Hundred, she switched sides and she played in two contests for Welsh Fire. Towards the end of the 2022 season, Morris joined North West Thunder, it was revealed. Morris has also travelled to South Africa with a number of England Development and Academy squads. In 2012 and 2013, she took part in the Super Fours for the Emeralds and the Rubies, respectively.
