With Anthony Martial failing to find consistency and Mason Greenwood unavailable for selection, Manchester United were looking for a striker. Before finalizing on Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, ten Hag was initially interested in Goncalo Ramos. The Norwegian boss offered a swap deal for Goncalo offering Brazilian defender Alex Telles in exchange. However, the deal eventually failed to see though.

Margarida Domingues is a Protuguese national who is reportedly dating Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos at the moment. The couple has been in a relationship since earlier this year in March. According to reports, Margarida would have moved to England with her boyfriend if Goncalo’s move to Old Trafford was successful.

According to reports, Margarida has a degree in Social Communication. She currently works as an intern at Sport TV Portugal since in April 2023 after initially completing a four-month internship. She also works as a digital influencer on Instagram and with the commercial department at Blast Agency as well.
Margarida has an Instagram account with the handle @maguigas, and both she and Goncalo often share pictures of them together on social media.
Goncalo Ramos sparks interest from Manchester United
Goncalo Ramos piqued United’s interest particularly due to his goalscoring record. Moreover, in recent years, the club has a good record with Portuguese players all things considered. The best example for that record is Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined in 2003. Nani was another exciting talent who four Premier League at Old Trafford titles under Sir Alex Ferguson. More recently, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes have proven to be key assets for the club after joining in 2018 and January 2020 respectively.
United have however, already failed with their initial swap deal to sign Goncalo and offer Alex Telles in exchange. Telles was also not keen to make a move to Benfica due to his relationship with their rivals Porto.
He spoke about it saying:
Going back to that subject I told you about leaving a legacy at the club. When you play for a club and leave a legacy, leave a good image, fought so hard to play and leave a good image… I, Alex, would not play for the rival, for example.
He further added how he has history at Porto and everyone there loves him, assuring that he would never play for Benfica. With Manchester United having signed Rasmus Hojlund, its seems very unlikely that Goncalo Ramos nor his girlfriend Margarida will arrive at Old Trafford anytime soon.
