Manager Duan Xin slaps referee Chen Hao during football match in China before fainting, video goes viral
The rivals’ Football match between Liaoning Shenyang City and Nanjing City ended in a 4-0 victory for the home team. But after a penalty call went against his team, visiting manager Duan Xin was less than pleased.
At the stroke of halftime, with the score still just 1-0, Liaoning was denied a penalty kick. As referee Chen Hao hurried to the sideline, the coaching staff of Xin contested the decision, and one of them was given a yellow card. The boss, though, was incensed and stepped onto the pitch while seeming to make eye contact with the official.
After that, Xin received a straight red card for acting inappropriately. But things became worse when Xin smacked the referee in the face and was carried by staff and players towards the tunnel. Then, as Lin’s rage reached a boiling point, he dropped to the ground due to excess anger, creating a terrifying scene.
When the head coach was taken to the hospital, testing revealed that his blood pressure had spiked and caused him to faint. After receiving the all-clear, Xin went back to the team hotel and apologised to referee Hao; according to the Chinese site Sohu, Xin attributed his “irrational” conduct to being “too excited.”

Fans had a field day
On social media, fans immediately commented on the amazing moments, with one writing, “Dude needs a chill pill.” One more said, “This is why I’m here.” “Game’s not over,” one person said. Another person chimed up, “Just a regular Monday.”
Following the game, the club’s management got in touch with Xin Duan, who — along with the first-team team’s management — understood the seriousness of the error. The match supervisor and the on-duty referee were found to honestly apologise for their illogical actions after Xin Duan and the management of the first team realised the gravity of the error.
A request for a response from the Chinese Football Association (CFA) was not immediately fulfilled. In China’s second-tier rankings, Liaoning Shenyang is placed thirteenth, while Nanjing City is ranked fourth.
