Anji Nyquist is a social media coordinator from Minneapolis, Minnesota who recently made her ‘Jeopardy!’ debut on the most recent episode of the show telecasted on Wednesday. She acquired her high school diploma and Bachelor’s in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nyquist obtained a degree in Media Studies and Communication from Minnesota State University, Mankato back in 2012.

‘Jeopardy!’ fans mock Anji Nyquist for her accent

Interestingly, fans and viewers of the show mocked Nyquist now because of how she played but rather for how she spoke. The fans of the game even went as far as taking to Twitter to mock her accent. Some fans felt that her way of speaking was similar to how the infamous ‘valley girls’ spoke. This is due to her speaking with a higher pitch.

Anji Nyquist becomes the latest ‘Jeopardy!’ champion

Anji Nyquist took part in the most recent episode of the ‘Jeopardy!’ show alongside two other competitors. One of them was previous champion Kate Campolieta, a corporate communications specialist, and the other was Aubrey Gilleran, a high school English teacher.

Anji Nyquist registered a major end-minute turnaround in the game despite lagging behind throughout the game. Throughout the competition, Gilleran was in the lead with $11.2K while previous ‘Jeopardy!’ champ Campolieta was at second with $6.9K. Nyquist was at last place with a figure of just $4.8K.

However, things took a sharp turn in the Final Jeopardy round where Nyquist made a comeback. While the other two competitors wagered huge amounts with wrong answers, Anji was the only one with the correct answer. Following which she is now the current ‘Jeopardy!’ champion and will soon make a return in the next episode.
