Despite a 95-run knock by their skipper Priyank Panchal, reigning champions West Zone fell short as they succumbed to defeat against South Zone in the 2023 Duleep Trophy championship match. With their statement 75-runs victory, South Zone have clinched their 14th Duleep Trophy.

2023 Duleep Trophy final South Zone vs West Zone winner, result, score, & best performers
On the final day of the 2023 Duleep Trophy championship match, South Zone emerged victorious against West Zone at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. When the play began on Sunday, West Zone required 116-runs for clinching the title, but came up short by 75 runs. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide any resistance and lost their last five wickets inside twenty-two overs. Notably, the final match was played from 12th July through 16th July at this venue.
Although fans hoped that West Zone skipper Priyank Panchal will guide his team to victory, he was dismissed due to his weak shot in the third-over of Sunday. This erroneous stroke put an end to the tenacious effort accomplished by Panchal and put South Zone on the brink of victory. To speed up the end, left-arm spinner Sai Kishore dismissed Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Chintan Gaja, & Atit Sheth, as the three batters failed in their quest for significant hits and early runs.

Thanks to his stellar performance throughout the tournament, South Zone’s Vidwath Kaverappa was recognized as the Player of the Series. Additionally, Kaverappa bagged the Player of the Final award owing to his seven-wicket haul in the final’s first innings. Elsewhere, North Zone’s scored the most runs in the tournament and Central Zone’s Saurabh Kumar bagged the highest number of wickets.
The Duleep Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy winners will get Rs 1 crore whereas runners-up in the tournament will get Rs 50 lakh and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy winners will earn Rs 80 lakh whereas the losing team will get Rs 40 lakh
