The Gold Cup takes place every two years and features countries from the 41 member nations of the Confederation of North, Central America & Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).
CONCACAF Gold Cup 2023
This year, only 15 of the 41 CONCACAF nations plus a guest nation (Qatar) qualified for the 2023 Gold Cup. The tournament started out with a group stage followed by knockout rounds. Following the end of the group stage, the 16 teams were reduced to just eight teams. The eight teams then competed in the knockout rounds under a single-elimination knockout bracket to determine the next continental champion.

The top two teams in each group earned a spot each in the quarterfinals round. From there, the rest of the tournament follows a single elimination system with a winner after every game. Games ending with a draw will be decided by extra time and penalty kicks.
