Sita Dahal brief bio and family
Sita Dahal was the wife of current Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Prior to her marriage to Prachanda, she was known as Sita Poudel, and the couple got married very young when he was just 15 years old. Together, the couple had three daughters and one son. However, the couple lost their daughter Gyanu KC to cancer in 2014 and their son Prakash Dahal in 2017, due to a cardiac arrest.
Their other daughters are Renu Dahal and Ganga Dahal. Renu is currently a prominent Nepalese politician and serves as the Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan district. Meanwhile, Ganga Dahal is also pursuing a path in politics. Sita has remained as a steadfast supporter throughout her husbandโs political journey, also she has also played a very significant role in his career.

According to reports, Sita Dahal has been suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Parkinsonism, Type 2 Diabetes, and hypertension. Sita was reportedly receiving domiciliary oxygen and was under the care of a PEG feeding tube and indwelling catheter. Sita Dahal passed away at around 8:33 am on Wednesday morning, when her oxygen levels dropped and she stopped breathing. Medical officials then rushed her to Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu. Despite efforts to resuscitate her, she failed to revive doctors soon declared her dead.

Following her sudden demise, Sita Dahalโs body will be kept at the party central office in Parisdanda, Koteshwar, from 11 am to 1 pm. Friends, family, and other well-wishers can pay their final respects during the said time and place. The funeral rites will then begin around 2 pm at Pashupati Aryaghat.
