Ty Young’s education and career so far
The small forward attended James Madison University, where she competed as a collegiate player for the team from 2004 to 2008 before beginning her professional career. On her official Instagram page, Ty also lists “model” and “coach” as some of her alternative professions.
The Atlanta Dream selected Tamera out of James Madison with the eighth overall pick in the 2008 WNBA draft. Years later, she was traded to the Chicago Sky, where she assisted the group in 2015 by helping them reach the WNBA Finals. She returned to Atlanta, but in 2018 she was traded once more to the Las Vegas Aces. She also performed abroad for the Cesis in Latvia from 2008 to 2009, Pankup in Turkey from 2009 to 2010, and Basket Landes in France from 2010 to 2011, all of which were off-season engagements for the star.
