After drawing with Central Zone in their semi-final on Saturday at the KSCA Cricket Ground, West Zone advanced towards the Duleep Trophy 2023 final. At Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, South Zone defeated North Zone by two wickets in the second Duleep Trophy 2023 semifinal.

There was expectation of a heated conclusion on the final day of the semifinal between South Zone and North Zone as the heavy skies hung over the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. With just 32 runs needed and six wickets in hand when play was restarted at 3:50 PM, the only thing standing in South Zone’s way of victory was the light. Because they had seized the lead in the first inning, North needed only a draw to secure a match against West Zone in the 2023 Duleep Trophy final. Sai Kishore smacked two sixes, including one that gave his team the win, allowed South Zone to pass the target despite North Zone’s best efforts to slow the game down in the closing stages.
Meanwhile, the other semi-final match in Alur ended in a stalemate between West Zone and East Zone after play was suspended due to rain. However, West Zone qualified for the final based on their first innings lead. When Central lost both of its openers in the first nine overs, any aspirations it had of chasing West’s enormous target were instantly dashed. Despite tenacious display from their middle-order batsmen, Central failed to complete their chase as rain interrupted the play. With these results, it is confirmed that South Zone will face-off against West Zone at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium beginning from 12th July.
