At Ajex, Van der Sar held the position of CEO until May. He confirmed that there was bleeding around the former goalkeeper’s brain. He has been admitted to the intensive care unit and is doing well.

On October 29, 1970, Edwin Van der Sar was born in Voorhout, Netherlands. He was a custodian for Ajax from 1990 to 1999 before moving to Juventus from 1999 to 2001.
From 2001 to 2005, he was a member of Fulham, and from 2005 to 2011, Manchester United. He played goalkeeper in 605 games during the course of his career. During the 1997–98 season, he scored a goal in a 9–1 victory over De Graafschap.
In addition, he played in 130 games for the Netherlands national team between 1995 and 2008. Van der Sar is one of a select group of players who have won the UEFA Champions League twice, first with Ajax in 1995 and then with Manchester United in 2008. In 1992, Ajax also captured the UEFA Cup.
Edwin Van der Sar held the record for the longest streak without conceding a goal at 1,311 minutes during the UEFA Championship season. At 40 years and 205 days old, he was also the oldest player to win the Premier League.
