What Exactly Happened in Until Your Sword Breaks Chapter 3
In the last chapter, we were introduced to Matsuri’s buddy and coworker, Aigaki Ren. Ren was Matsuri’s initial acquaintance in Edo. When Ren found out she had nowhere to go, he took her in. He offered her a position in the kitchen at Soba. In the last episode, Matsuri introduced Yunosuke to Ren and introduced him to the restaurant’s signature dish, Soba noodles.
Turns out Ren offered to pay them to drive her to meet her parents. She claims that wild dogs will attack anyone who approaches their territory. Matsuri and Yunosuke complied with her request with enthusiasm. Matsuri was attacked by a wild dog along the trip and had to flee by climbing a tree. Yunosuke managed to tame the dog and eventually found it a new home.
Ren’s desire to visit the graveyard stems from the fact that she lost both of her parents to illness when she was young. Ren was left alone when the rest of her family passed away due to illness.
