Iran, meanwhile, trounced Japan 71-13 in their last league game to go to the last. They lost the energy they had throughout the tournament and came in second place in the event they had won 20 years prior (in 2003).

All eyes on the Asian Games 2023

For the Indian kabaddi squad, winning the championship in Busan would be encouraging as they get ready for the Asian Games in 2023, which will be the greatest multi-sport event for the sport since it is not an Olympic sport. Nearly the same teams will compete for podium finishes at the Asian Games 2023, which will be held in Hangzhou, China, between September 23 and October 8.
