John Mountain started his career by opening a Mosaica restaurant in Wood Green in 2000. In spite of initial complaints, the restaurant won praise from critics, which finally resulted in his inclusion on the prestigious Great British Menu.
Particularly, he made a daring statement by offering King Charles a pudding cooked with rabbit stew while the play was still going on. When his London restaurant, the English Pig, was shut down after only two years, Mountain started working with renowned chefs in Australia before opening his own restaurant, Fyre, there in 2016.
