While he didn’t disclose much, Jean Todt gave some insight into what the current situation of Michael Schumacher was after his accident 

As 29 December edges closer, its a stark reminder of the horrendous accident which took place 8 years back, one which rendered Formula 1 legend Michal Schumacher with severe brain damage at the age of 44.

Schumacher’s skiing accident on the French Alps was the last time the driver was seen publicly. He has seen been shifted to the banks of Lake Geneva along with his wife Corinna to stay away from the public eye as he undergoes extensive medical treatment.

Schumacher’s family has not been secretive of how he looks currently but his medical condition as well. There have hardly been any updates on the driver’s health over the time with even the recent Netflix documentary on him providing no insight into how he was at the moment.

However, there has finally been some insight into Schumacher’s plight with his close friend and one of the elusive people allowed to visit him, Jean Todt revealing how he was. Todt who visited him recently talked about Schumacher’s accident as he dwelled into how the driver was.

The FIA president and ex-Ferrari team principal had last visited Schumacher, the man he calls his second son on October 18.

“I can understand why his family and friends are protecting him because we should leave him in peace. Michael is fighting, he is fighting, and we can only hope that he will improve,” Todt said as he talked about Schumacher’s health.

‘I am happy that his son Mick is in Formula One. He is doing well. He could have a more competitive car but I am pleased he has this passion. I am happy that Gina-Maria has found her passion in horses,” he continued.
