As Larry passed away, his family posted a touching message on social media to honor him. Larry’s godsister, Sonia, honored him by praising his determination and tenacity. She said,
Larry has fought the good fight. He has overcome some of the biggest Challenges he has ever had to face. Rest well Junior you will be missed.
Sonia also took the initiative to create a GoFundMe page to raise funds for Larry’s funeral arrangements. In her post, she said,
Larry always made himself available to sing at special events anytime anyone asked, most of the time free of charge. His struggle with weight gain/loss never dimmed his drive to show love and kindness to all he met.
As of now, the fundraiser aimed at “bring Larry home” has garnered approximately $617 out of the $35,000 target. Who was Larry Myers Jr?
Larry Myers Jr was a former reality TV star. He has been in the news because he passed away at the age of 49.
He initially gained attention by singing about the cuisine at a chicken restaurant and also earned the nickname ‘Mr. Buttermilk Biscuits.’ Later, after joining the popular show My 600-lb Life for season 10, he rose to fame on reality television. He appeared in Larry’s Journey, the thirteenth episode of the show.
Larry Myers Jr weighed 940 pounds at the time and was restricted to a bed. His narrative on the show was unique since he had already had weight-loss surgery in the past. After his initial treatment, he gained another 400 pounds and realized he needed assistance losing the weight.
He acknowledged on the program that his connection with food was “not normal” and that he frequently struggled with binge eating patterns.
