Wimbledon 2023 will soon be here. It's difficult enough getting tickets through the ballot or queuing without some grifter taking all these seats. At least that won't be happening this year.#HarryandMeghanSmollett #HarryandMeghanAreAJoke pic.twitter.com/JBp5hdolWr

A good idea for those who can't make it across the pond (and who probably would not get tickets to #Wimbledon even if they did)https://t.co/bAXOlPPFjH pic.twitter.com/LSB15cggge

Following high ticket demands from would-be spectators Wimbledon 2023 sees the return of the traditional public ticket ballot.
Wimbledon 2023 how to buy tickets and ticket prices
Wimbledon sent out details about how to enter the ballot to people who are MyWimbledon members following the end of the 2022 Championships and ahead of the end of the calendar year.
Given below are the steps to buy show court tickets to Wimbledon 2023 by entering ballots:
- Sign up for free on the tournament’s official website, which provides all the details about the ballot and ticketing
- Change their contact preferences to select the ticketing option, which allows Wimbledon to send them updates
- Entering the ballot will guarantee a place in the draw for tickets
- Fans will get allocated dates, courts, and price bands
- Fans can accept or decline the chance to buy the tickets offered following the draw
- Wimbledon will give a short space of time for fans to complete their purchase
Back in 2022, the tickets prices ranged from £15 ground passes on the closing weekend to £240 tickets for the finals on Centre Court. Meanwhile, tickets on the show courts for the opening day were priced between £46 for admission to Court No. 3 and £75 for the best tickets on Centre Court.
Wimbledon 2023 key dates and ticket ballot
Given below are some key dates for the upcoming Wimbledon 2023:
- The main section of Wimbledon will start on July 3 and go on until July 16 in 2023, while the ballot will take place long beforehand
- Fans who applied ahead of December got the chance to buy any tickets that they won in February
- Fans who purchased the tickets will receive them in June via the official Wimbledon app
Notably, fans cannot switch tickets for a different day or court. Moreover, fans can receive full refunds on tickets only the day before the play.
Meanwhile, entrants who do not get any allocated seats or don’t get the tickets they want still have another chance. There is a ballot returns system, and queue system which also allows fans to potentially buy in person on each day of the tournament.
Wimbledon 2023 Queue tickets prices
Wimbledon is currently one of the very few major sporting events where fans and attendees can purchase premium tickets on the day of play. People can join the Queue outside the grounds each day of the tournament, to purchase either one of the limited Show Court tickets or a Grounds ticket. The organizers sell tickets at the event on a best available, one per person, queuing basis and are non-transferable.
Upto 500 tickets for each of the Show Courts (Centre Court, No.1 Court, and No.2 Court) are sold every day. Attendees who purchase a Grounds Pass will have access to all courts. This includes No.3 Court, Court 12 and Court 18, along with The Hill.
This year, tickets for the Grounds Passes are priced at £27, which will then be reduced from day nine onwards. According to Wimbledon, fans who join the Queue by 9am should have a good chance of getting in that day.
